CrystalASTM for Win32 is a 32 bit implementation of American Society for Testing and Materials(ASTM) E1381-95 link level protocol.
This protocol is used for transferring information between clinical instruments and computer systems.
CrystalASTM provides you an API (Application Programming Interface) to create an ASTM
host on a PC that can connect to ASTM instruments and collect data from those instruments.
Included in the library is a complete source kit for the ASTM protocol along with a complete source kit
for the CrystalCOMM for Win32 library, which the ASTM library is built upon. Included is sample parsing for ASTM E1394-95 messages.

This allows you to simply distribute the DLL with your application. You can call the DLL functions from virtually any 32 bit Windows language.
CrystalASTM provides high level calls to simply your work with the ASTM communications. The library is provided to you as a DLL which is callable from your database or other application.
CrystalASTM can be called from C, C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, Turbo Pascal for Windows, SmallTalk, GUPTA SQLbase, Paradox, Power Builder, dBFast, Access, FoxBase, and a number of other 32 bit Windows languages. CrystalASTM is written in C for performance and portability purposes.
CrystalASTM supports a number of COM add on boards including DigiBoard, COMTROL, and others. Any board that provides an appropriate Win32 compatible driver is supported.
